Virtual Learning Academy

A new initiative prompted by COVID-19 and its effect on our schools and students, the Virtual Learning Academy (VLA) is intended to provide a safe and enriching environment for children to conduct their virtual academic studies during the school day.

The current pandemic has fundamentally transformed the way our children are educated. MAC’s VLA initiative, which launched in September 2020, is designed to respond the new educational needs of Bibb County’s students and their families in the advent of COVID-19.

The VLA was originally intended as a temporary service to be offered while schools were closed for in-person learning through October 30th, 2020; families, however, continued to have serious reservations regarding the safety of sending their children back to school. Hence, the VLA has extended its operations through the end of this school year on May 26, 2021, and will resume operations for the following school year on August 2nd, 2021.

Please note that MAC observes the same holidays as the school district, and will thus be closed during all school holidays and breaks scheduled by the school district.

Please also note that the VLA will be in session on Wednesdays, even though the school district does not currently hold classes on Wednesdays, so that students have a productive setting in which to complete their offline assignments.
