About the Executive Director

Dr. Erwin Clowers is the Founder & Executive Director of Men About Change | Women About Change, and has overseen MAC’s operations, administration, and programmatic execution since its inception.

Dr. Clowers has been an educator and youth mentor for nearly 30 years, serving as a math and special-needs student instructor, academic coach, and school administrator. He has taught in several counties throughout Georgia, including Baldwin, Jasper, Newton, Wilkinson, and Macon-Bibb Counties, which has allowed him to acquire extensive experience working with a diverse population of students. He has also served as an athletic coach, overseeing wrestling, baseball, and basketball teams over the years. He remains involved in the community through his work as a baseball coach for Macon Little League, his service as a Deacon at the Glorious Hope Baptist Church, and as a dedicated member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity.

Dr. Clowers graduated from the Bibb County School District’s Southwest High School in 1982. He went on to receive a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Finance from Mercer University; a Master of Education degree in Middle Grade Math from Troy State University; and a Doctorate of Education in Educational Leadership from Nova Southeastern University.

Dr. Clowers also holds multiple Professional Development Certificates from the Child Care Resource & Referral Program at Albany State University. He was voted Bibb County School District Teacher of the Year in 1999, and Co-Teacher of the Year again in 2010.

He is a member of the Georgia Association of Educators.
